Exciting young director Weronika Mliczewska’s unparalleled sense of adventure and eye for unconventional beauty makes her a talent to watch out for. Weronika personifies DIY filmmaking.
Her literal get up and go attitude has taken her across the world. From war-torn Guatemala, forgotten Mexican villages, famine-ravaged Honduras, illegal gold mines along the Amazon, the most remote human dwellings in the Andes, and so many more, she assimilates with cultures in order to understand them. It’s through this intimacy and spirituality that she has been able to hone her craft.
Additionally, this kind of filmmaking education has meant that there’s always a very authentic, human element to her films, including the more aesthetically adventurous ones. This is what separates her work from the homogony. Even when working for some of the world’s biggest agencies and brand (Mastercard, VISA, CNN, to name but a few) she never loses the heart at the centre.
